Blogger Spill Tea W/ PrettyPolitical

I am so happy to see that you are all still loving this new series, so here is a new one. This one is with Emily from Pretty Political. I do just want to warn you all before you read Emily's answers, they are quite sarcastic but very honest, so thank you to Emily for pushing the boundaries a little.

1. Describe your blog in a sentence
My blog is a little collection of (inconsistent) posts about beauty, lifestyle and when I am feeling passionately about it, politics.

2. Does your blog name have any special meaning behind it?
I just changed it this week and I wanted it to just sum up my blog so it's like beauty and politics in one (or it could be two words to describe me...jk)

3. What/who made you start blogging?
I don't know to be honest because I've had blogs on and off for years so I guess I just started for fun.

4. Where do you get your inspiration from to write your blog posts?
My brain

5. What do you do to prepare before uploading a blog post?
Write the post

(sorry for all of the sarcasm lol, I just don't do a lot of preparation I guess)

6. What makes you want to blog consistently?
I don't blog consistently sooo....

7. Do you like interacting with other bloggers?
I like interacting with nice people who want to speak to me as a friend but I can't be bothered with people who use me for views and collabs and stuff #sorrynotsorry

8. Have you ever followed a blog just to be nice even if you don't like it?
I used to but I'm past that now so if I follow you it's because I like you :) If I don't follow you it's probably not that I don't like you, it's just that I don't know who you are. Or maybe I don't like you. Who knows...?

9. What do you love and hate most about the blogging community?
I love that generally everyone's really nice and supportive but sometimes people are just a bit statistic-crazy and that annoys me a bit.

10. Do you ever feel like no one ever remembers that you have feelings?
No I guess? I probably don't let people make me feel like that lol.

11. Do you feel like the bigger you get, the smaller of a relationship you have with your readers?
No, I actually think it's the opposite because when you're a small blogger you don't have many regular readers but once people start coming back again and again you can interact with them more because they'll know you better. I hope that made sense.

12. What opportunities have you got from blogging?
Well I'm just a tiny part of the internet so I haven't really had any big opportunities yet but the things that I have done is just really to develop my writing skills and all of that kind of stuff.

13. If you were to get no views or comments on a blog post that you worked really hard on and were super proud of it, how would you feel and what would your next step be to make sure you don't experience it again?
To be honest I wouldn't care that much because if I'd worked really hard on a post and I was proud of it, then I think that's the main thing. I'd rather be proud of it and have it get no views than think it was rubbish and have it get loads of views.

14. What is your response to people that say blogging is easy?
It's as easy as you want it to be. If you are just going to upload whenever you feel like it and not really interact with anyone (me lol) then it's really easy but if you want to daily blog and do some intense social media interacting then that's going to be really difficult for you.

15. Have you ever come across or noticed bloggers that do it for the fame or money?
Yes and probably waaay too often. I think it's quite sad that someone will go to all that effort just to get a bit of money or fame and to be honest they'll probably quit it very quickly if they are doing that anyway.

16. What do you think shows a blogger is in it for money/products/fame?
Obviously if all of their posts are just irrelevant ads then you know they are just in it for money but also if you go on their social medias then you'll probably see hundreds of requests for brands to work with them.

17. Do you think that there is a certain time or milestone that you should reach before earning money from blogging?
No not really. I have ads on even though I'm really small and it earns me pennies because I just think why not? I've got nothing to loose.

18. Is there a certain post/collaboration that you really regret doing?
Haha yes. I remeber a few brand collaberations that went wrong. The first one was an earring company where the earrings just snapped as soon as I tried to put them on and the second was a clothes company who sent me a jumpsuit which didn't fit well who then expected me to write a full post about how much I loved it! I did end up putting it in a favourites but I wasn't happy about it.

19. Do you like reading sponsored content and why?
It really depends on what it is. I will only read blog posts if I'm interested in them and that goes for sponsored content as well. I suppose I'd be less inclined to read a sponsored post than a normal one but as I said it really does depend on the topic.

20. In your opinion, is there anything wrong with sponsored content?
No just as long as it's relevant and interesting.

What did you think of Emily's answers?
