NYX Butter Gloss Review

It has taken me so long to share this with you but a few of you have asked for this review so here it is. I can quite confidently call this my favourite lip product from the drugstore. Obviously, if you have been reading my blog for a while you know exactly what I am talking about, the NYX Butter Glosses.
You can get these glosses from Boots and they retail for £5.50. They come in a range of shades but obviously I stick to the nude shades so currently in my collection, I own the shades Fortune Cookie and Creme Brulee. There are other websites that stock this product but Boots is the most accessible so I have left the link at the end of this post.
Starting with the packaging, I think they are super cute. You get only 8ml in the tube which I don't think is too bad because I don't think I have ever finished a lip gloss, but I think they are super cute because they are quite small and super portable. I also love how the colour of the gloss is represented on the whole outside of the tube.
Onto the formula, which is my favourite thing about this product. The gloss itself feels super balmy and moisturizing on the lips with it giving off a little bit of colour. I love how them are not too pigmented because that makes them easy to layer or wear alone. On the lips, they feel super light weight and not sticky at all. The gloss lasts around 3-4 hours which I think is great because most of my glosses tend to just come right off.
These glosses are like nothing I have ever used before. They feel so creamy and I love the colour pay off. The photo above shows the shades Fortune Cookie and Creme Brulee swatched next to each other (FC on the left, CB on the right). As you can see Fortune Cookie is very sheer but that is because it is such a pale nude but in the centre of a darker lipstick, it adds a great effect to the lips.
The reason I know I love these so much is because I never repurchase anything in more than one shade unless I really love it. This is the only lip product I have ever bought twice in two different shades which says a lot to me because it has never happened before. I know that in the future, I will definitely repurchase more of these because I love this formula so much and it just helps that it comes with such a small price tag.
I would recommend this to anyone and everyone. They are so easy to wear and they come in so many shades so one is bound to suit you. Even if you are not a gloss girl you should definitely try these out because they will make you fall in love with glossy lips, because that is what they did to me.

Have you ever tried any NYX lip products before? If so which ones?
Grace xx

  1. fortune cookie is such a lovely shade, I only own one shade right now but I'm looking for a gloss with a bit more pigmentation, but these do have such a lovely formula so I might just have to buy some more!
