August Favorites!

Hi everyone,
Today I am going to be sharing with you some of the things I have loved throughout August. As you know, I didn't do a July favorites because I was in the middle of my holiday but I did a holiday favorites blog post (linked here) which wasn't too long ago but I still wanted to do an August favorites. I also want to apologies for this photo, I know it isn't great but I have been struggling with flat lay backgrounds so this is the best one I had. Let's just start!

Makeup
NYX Matte Bronzer in Fair - I have had this for quite a while and when I didn't take it on holiday I realized just how much I loved it. The colour is very light so if your super fair then this is one I would really recommend but I like how it has a red tone to it instead of an orange tone. I also tend to lean towards matte bronzers as I just prefer the effect it gives and I find it really hard to find a drugstore matte bronzer but NYX offers them in loads of shades which I think is great. The consistency is very bendable and pigmented which is super nice too.
Kiko Lip Oil - I bought this near the start of August and I have used it almost everyday since. Lip oils are something I haven't heard much about but they have came into lots of beauty brands recently so I picked up one from Kiko in France. I now prefer lip oils over lip balms thanks to this because I like it absorbs really fast but even when it's dried my lips don't feel chapped. I like to use this first before starting my makeup and by the time it comes to applying my lip product, my lips are super smooth and nourished.
Rucci Professional Stipple Brush - This is not a brush brand I am familiar with but I am in love with this brush. I bought this from TKMax in Germany and it was a couple of euros and I really with I bought more of these because they are amazing. The fibers are super soft and they pick up the perfect amount of product. Recently, I have really been loving this for bronzer and blush but it works great for foundation, powder and cream product as well. I can now call this one of my favorite brushes of all time, I don't think I would do my makeup without it.
Barry M Nail Polishes - If you have been reading my blog for a long time, you would know that I am a huge fan of Barry M nail polishes so now that it is the summer holidays and there is no school, it means I can wear more nail polish. The two colours I have been loving the most is the Gelly Hi-Shine in the shade Grapefruit and the Speedy Quick Dry in the shade Kiss Me Quick. They are both super appropriate for summer and Barry M never disappoint with their formulations.

Hair
Messy Buns - I haven't really been trying out many hair products recently but there is a style I have been wearing a lot and that is messy buns. Since it is summer I prefer my hair to be up and out of my way but I feel like I don't suit a ponytail so a bun is the perfect style for me. Most days I tend to just throw it up in a bun and it takes a total of one minute which is great for when I am in a rush.

Skincare/ Body Care
La Roche Posay Serozinc - I know that this sounds like a super posh product but it is just a spray toner. My mum bought me this for my birthday and I have used it since. You all know how much I love my Lush spray toner but this is a little more of a fine mist and more cooling. This is really good for oily and spot prone skin which is what I have and once the toner has set in it gives my skin a more matte finish. I have noticed my skin thanking me for using this as it does calm down a lot of my spots and redness.

Fashion
Topshop Satin Bomber Jacket - I don't actually have a picture of this but I have linked it in the title but you might have seen it in my what I got for my birthday blog post. I really love the quality of this jacket, it's super light weight and it goes with a lot of things. The colour of it is very beautiful, it has a silver/pink tone to it which I think really complements my tan. Since it is summer I have been leaning towards this jacket over my others because it is light weight so it doesn't make me feel heavy and it doesn't make me feel like I am over heating in the sun. I also like the fact that I can tie it around my waist because I find that rare for a going-out jacket.

TV/Books
House of Anubis - I use to watch this programme a lot when I was younger because it was on Nickelodeon but since it was on Netflix I had to watch it again. The show is very clever and well thought out which I really like because I find that rare in a teen TV show. I was so obsessed with this programme that I actually watched both seasons in four days remembering that there is about 30 episodes in each lasting 20 minutes, it's a bit of an understatement to say I was obsessed.
Gossip Girl - I have finally gotten round to finishing this because I put it off for a very long time but I am so happy to have finally finished it. The characters in this show are some of my all time favorite characters, the show is a little more realistic then House of Anubis as it is something most of us could relate to it. I would highly recommend this to anyone because it is a very good show, it is a little long because it is six seasons but it is all worth a watch.
The Vampire Diaries - This could be a cheat because I have only started watching this the last two days but to prove how much I love it, I am already on season 2 (there was 22 episodes in season 1 all 40 minutes each, a little obsessed). I have put off watching this for so long because there was so much hype over it but I can totally see why. The whole show is so clever and well thought out because there is so much depth to each character. I cannot wait to watch more!

I hope you enjoyed this post, let me know what you have been loving this month. Also let me know what posts you want from me over the next few months. Have a great day!

Let's Travel To Europe - Holiday Haul!

Hi everyone,
In case you didn't already know, I am now back from my holiday. I have been travelling around Europe with Penny (best friend) and her family for the past 19 days so all of my most recent posts have been scheduled. Now that I am back, I obviously made a few purchases that I would like to share with you in this post, so I hope you enjoy! Let's begin!

Duty Free,
We did not get a plane anywhere but we did get a ferry and there is still a duty free on there so I picked up a few things. I firstly bought a L'Oreal dazzle lip gloss in the shade sparkle shower, this was super inexpensive so I got it and it is a beautiful clear gloss with pink glitters in. The final thing I bought was a pack of Hershey's cookie and cream chocolate bars. Again this was super cheap and you got 6 full size bars in it which is great because they are so expensive in the uk supermarkets.

Douglas,
In case you are unaware of the shop, Douglas is a beauty shop in Germany that sell brands from Mac to NYX, so a whole miss match. Anyway in their I picked up two things, the first one being a makeup brush. It is from the brand Barbara Hofmann, and it is an angled contour brush, I cannot find it's specific name but so far it is a very nice brush and I am really enjoying to use it. Final thing from Douglas was something that pulled me in from the counter as it was so cheap. It is the L'Oreal Elnett Hairspray, I know that you can get this in the UK but I could not deny the amazing price. It is only a mini but it was ideal as it was nice and small to travel back home with.

TKMaxx,
Again, while I was in Germany, I took a wander into TKMaxx and I found another makeup brush that was insanely cheap. It is by the brand Rucci Professional and again it has no name, but it is basically a large stipple brush. I already own a stipple brush from Elf but I have been on the hunt for a bigger one and when this was only a few euros, I had to have it. Currently I am loving this brush as you can use this for almost any face product.

Kiko,
While we were in France, I managed to go into a Kiko shop and pick up a few things. First thing was very new to the Kiko stands and it is their flower enriched blush in the shade Provocative Pink. This has two shades in it and the idea is that you swirl both together for a lovely glow. Together it makes a beautiful pale pink shade which is very natural on the skin. The packaging of this product is also very nice the the matte black case and a mirror inside the compact. The final thing from Kiko is something I picked up very last minute which was a their Heatwave lip oil in the shade 03 (it has got a proper name but it is in french, haha). Anyway again this was super cheap and lip oils seem to be floating round the beauty brands at the moment so I thought I should get one of my own.

Sephora,
I wasn't too impressed with the Sephora in France because it sold a lot of brands that you can get in Debenhams but I did pick up two of their face masks. I have heard a lot of great things about these masks so I have high expectations for them, I bought the pearl and pomegranate face mask. They were only a few euros each which I thought was really good, so I will report back once I have tried them.

H&M,
I know that you can easily go to H&M in the UK whenever you like but I decided to get something from there in France anyway because it was so much more cheaper than in the UK. Saying that, I did only buy one thing and that is a tribal/chevron printed, cropped vest. I am sure that this was like five euros or something so I just had to buy it but I really like the top because it is very colorful and I like how it is slightly cropped so it won't show a lot of skin.

Pull and Bear,
While we were in Rotterdam, we did a little shopping and there was a Pull and Bear, which again you can get in the UK but I hadn't seen this t-shirt at home before. It is just this oversized black top that says "Girls Supporting Girls" on it in white. I really liked this top as I thought it was very relevant to self esteem issues these days but not only does it promote a good cause it is also super soft and inexpensive.

When I Came Home,
When I came home my mum had bought me the September issue of Elle magazine and in it came a tester size of the new Benefit Dew The Hoola cream bronzer, which I have been wanting to try for a while now. I will soon let you know how I get on with this but thanks to my mum for getting this for me.

I hope you enjoyed this post, look forward to some more holiday posts coming very soon. Have a great day!

Makeup Revolution Blush Goddess Blush Palette!

Hi everyone,
For today's post I want to share with you a very affordable and good quality makeup product that you can buy from Superdrug. Makeup Revolution is a new brand to Superdrug, but never fails to impress with their great quality, especially their palettes. I saw that this was new to the shelves and so I picked it up. Today I want to share with you some initial thoughts on the product and swatches!

This palette retails for £6 and in it you get four blushes and four highlighters. I will go through each shade now starting with the highlighters in the second image.
 (Left to right)
- Very natural nude shimmer, no undertones, beautiful for a natural glow
- Silver shade with pink reflexes, very intense, a little powdery
- Bright yellow shade, would flatter darker skin, very glittery
- Nude shade, formula is slightly different to the others as it is more creamy

Now the blushes, which are all matte.
(Left to right)
- Orange, peach shade, very blendable, would look great on the eyes
- Pale peach shade, my favorite powder out of the whole palette
- Light pink shade, would suit pale skin
- Dark warm pink, very pretty, would look great in winter

What I like most about this palette is that all of the blushes included are matte, which I find very rare in the drugstore. Recently I have been using the blushes more than the highlighters but I like to not only use the blushes and highlighters on my cheeks, they both look just as good on the eyes also. I find that the formula is very inconsistent throughout this palette as some are more powdery than others, some are harder to blend and some are a little patchy. Apart from that, I really do love this palette and it is definitely one I tend to reach for on a daily basis now.

I hope you enjoyed this little review, let me know whether you like these mini reviews. Have a great day!

#IFeelBeautiful

(This is me :) )
Hi everyone,
Today's post has been long awaited so I hope you are looking forward to it. I was very kindly tagged by the lovely Emsi Rose (blog link here) to do this tag (which she created) and I love it's concept. I know your probably wondering what on earth is going on but the point of #IFeelBeautiful is when you have to list 10 things you love about your appearance and 5 things you love about your personality. If you are reading this and you have not yet done it, I suggest you do, don't feel like you need a blog to do it. You can post a photo of yourself on instagram with the hashtag or do it in a youtube video, either way I would love you to take part. I will leave a list of a few bloggers who I think should do this post, but I think it would be great if you all got involved. Let's begin!

I like my green eyes,
I like the shape and color of my eyebrows,
I like how I am slightly taller than the average height,
I like my curvy figure,
I like my toned legs,
I like my face with or without makeup,
I like my freckles and how makeup can never cover them,
I like how I can buy clothes in sizes from a 6 to a 10 and they all fit fine,
I like my naturally tanned skin,
I like the colour of my hair (even though it is dyed)
I feel beautiful!

I like how I am well motivated
I like how I don't judge people easily
I like how I see both sides to every story
I like how much I support the people around me
I like how I can change from sensible to silly in a heartbeat
I feel beautiful!

I tag:

I hope you enjoyed this post and I am sorry if I didn't tag you but I would still love it if you did this and used the hashtag. Have a great day!

Let's Travel To Europe - Holiday Beauty Favorites!

Hi everyone,
Today I am going to be sharing with you some of the products I took with me on holiday, which I have been loving. I did not do a July favorites as I was in the middle of my holiday but I hope that this makes up for it. Enjoy!

Makeup
Barry M Flawless Colour Correcting Primer (Green) - This was featured in a recent haul of mine (link here) and I took it on holiday with me and it is now a product I have to use in my everyday makeup. I used this over my post shave balm because it has a more silicon feel to it which I found to control my oil better. It neutralized the redness of my skin while smoothing it out ready for foundation.
The Body Shop Extra Virgin Mineral Foundation - Again this was in a recent haul of mine, but the main reason I brought this on holiday was because it contained spf 25 which I thought was surprisingly high for a drugstore foundation. Before I went on holiday this was not my colour but since gaining a little tan it now matches me very well. I don't tend to use this on it's own very much but I actually use it as a setting powder. All of my foundations are a little too pale for my skin at the moment and so with this powder, I can still use my foundations and set it with this and then the colour will be a little more true to the rest of my body.
Makeup Revolution Blush Palette (in blush goddess) - I do actually have a review of this going up very soon on my blog so I wont talk about it for too long. This palette has been very much loved recently, especially the blushes. I find the highlighters a little hit and miss when I use them but all of the blushes are absolutely beautiful. They are all matte which I love and my most loved shade is probably the second one which is the muted pink/mauve shade.
Maybelline Colour Tattoo (in On and On Bronze) - For some reason I always forget about this product but every time I pull it back out, I fall in love with it all over again. On the days where I was wearing quite a bit of eye shadow I used this as a base and it never disappointed me. It made the shadow last all day and the shade itself is beautiful and I found myself just wearing it on it's own some days.
Too Faced Sweet Peach Palette - This is honestly the summer palette for me, it is filled with lots of beautiful warm shades and so this was the only eye palette I needed for my travels. My go to eye look was a warm brown in the crease and lower lash line with a shimmery taupe shade all over the lid. Some days I put a slight twist on it but the palette was so versatile for day and night. The shadows themselves are so buttery and pigmented, I was in amazement.
Elizabeth Arden Eight Hour Cream - This is honestly one of the best lip balms I think is possible to buy. Every time I was out in the sun (and I remembered) I would apply this all over my lips to prevent burning them any further. I know that this is quite a pricey product but it is so versatile and it can be used for lots of different things.
Real Techniques Miracle Complexion Sponge - This is again a recent purchase and one I have been meaning to make for a while. Now that I finally own it, I am really loving it, while I was on holiday a lighter coverage was what I was leaning towards and so this sponge gave me the perfect look. I would dampen it before hand and blend both my foundation and concealer with it, it definitely made my look a little more natural.

Skincare
The Body Shop Camomile Cleansing Butter - I have been wanting to buy the full size of this for a while now and now that I finally have, I have been using it none stop. On the days where I was not being lazy, I would use this and it just felt so nice on my skin. You rub it between your fingers and it melts into an oil, then you massage it onto your dry face and rinse it off. This really helped when my face was burnt as camomile is known to sooth burns. The packaging was also very secure while we were travelling around which is always a plus.
Garnier After Sun - This is my go to after sun as it contains aloe vera which is very refreshing on the skin. It is extremely cooling once applied on the skin, it also absorbs very quickly and is not sticky. I don't think I could find an after sun that beats this, especially with the small price tag.

Haircare
Herbal Essences Bee Strong Honey Shampoo and Conditioner - I bought this shampoo and conditioner as I wasn't liking my current one so I browsed the stand and chose this combo. What drew me in was the fact that is was a strengthening product which is what I thought I would need while being on holiday in the constant heat. Anyway, I turned out to really enjoy this shampoo and conditioner as it makes my hair super shiny and soft. I also found that my hair was not all that damaged when I came back, so I will continue to use these products until they run out.
Tangle Teezer - I know I am so late on the band wagon but now that I am on it, I would never turn back. How on earth I managed to brush my hair without this, I do not know but I love this hair brush so much. I find that it gets rid of all of my knots without tugging at my hair. I also love how it is very compact and travel friendly.

I really hope that you enjoyed this post, let me know how your summer holiday is going so far. Have a great day!

Mini Book Haul

Hi everyone,
Now, if you know me personally you will know that I am not a reader. Ever since I was a kid ready was just never my thing, I am a very slow reader and I have always feared reading out loud which has also put me off reading. Saying that, this year I really wanted to give reading another go and since Zoella has came out with a book club at WHSmith with books that she would recommend, it gave me a boost to begin reading again. Anyway, two of these books I have already read, and two are waiting to be read and so I thought I would share with you each book and a mini review of the ones I have read.

Jandy Nelson - The Sky is Everywhere,
This was my holiday book while I was travelling around Europe and I absolutely loved it. It is about a girl, Lennie, who loves love, music and writing poems. She is currently grieving over her sisters death, but at the same time falling in love. The story is very complex and at first I found it difficult to get into but as I kept reading it became more and more gripping. I found the character Lennie to be very easy to relate to, especially if you have lost someone close to you it is easy to relate to Lennie's thought process. I would very highly recommend this book and if you have read it, comment below your thoughts on it.

Nicola Yoon - Everything, Everything,
Wow! This book is one emotional roller coaster, it is about a girl called Maddy, who suffers from a condition where she cannot leave her house. A boy called Olly move in opposite her and he is set on finding a way to get to her. The story focus on Maddy and her fear of falling in love and the risks she must take for it. As I was reading it, I felt as though the ending would be very obvious, but then suddenly everything gets flipped upside down, anyway the ending is a huge surprise but it weirdly makes sense. Nicola wrote this book in a beautiful way, it is very easy to follow and both characters Maddy and Olly, become very close to you, both of them represent the story in an amazing way. If I had to suggest one book to you, it would definitely be this one!

Paula Hawkins - The Girl on the Train
I have not read this book yet so I can't give a lot of detail on it but I have heard so much about this book that I just had to read it. It is about a girl called Rachel who gets the exact train each and every day. She has now started to feel like she knows the people in one of the houses, she thinks their life is perfect. She gets offered a chance to change everything and not just be known as the girl on the train. I am not to sure if I have summed that book up right but I am so excited to read all about it.

Charlotte Crosby - Me, me, me
This book is very different from the rest as it is an autobiography. I have never been the biggest fan of Geordie Shore but I love Charlotte a lot as a person and so I really wanted to read her book. What I like about it most of all is that it only mentions events that she wants you to know about, nothing boring is in the book just all of Charlotte's juiciest stories. I am reading this at the moment and I am really liking it, it is really casually written and it just feels like she is talking to you.

I hope you enjoyed this post, let me know whether you have read any of these books and if so let me know your thoughts on them. Have a great day!

How I Deep Clean My Makeup Brushes

Hi everyone,
For today's post I wanted to share with you my current favorite way to deep clean my makeup brushes and some tips when cleaning them. When I first started wearing makeup and using makeup brushes, I never use to wash them but now wince learning more about my skin and makeup, I have learnt that washing your makeup brushes on a weekly basis is crucial. To me, you don't need expensive products to help clean your makeup brushes, in fact I only use two products and they are both about £1 each. That is £2 to help clean your makeup brushes and both products will last for half a year. Let's begin!

The first product I use to clean my brushes are Johnson's Baby Shampoo, you can pick this up from anywhere for a very small price. The good thing about baby shampoo is that it is not full of lots of chemicals and it is not going to clog up your brushes. It also helps kill bacteria which is what you want when cleaning your brushes because having bacteria on your brushes when you use them on your face is only going to cause you to break out.
The other product I use is a facial cleansing pad, I got mine from Primark for about £1 but you can get them from other places. This is silicon which is ideal for brushes because silicon does not hold bacteria which means that your brushes are fully clean to use on your face. Before using this, I used my hands to lather up the shampoo but now I realize that it was making me break out.

I tend to wash my brushes once every two weeks as I find that since I don't wear makeup everyday then my brushes aren't that dirty after one week so I do it every two. It usually takes me no more than 10 minutes to clean all of my brushes. All I really do is fill up my sink with some warm water, dip my brush in the water, squeeze some baby shampoo onto the cleansing pad and swirl the brush in it, then rinse it and I repeat this until it is fully clean. I do this to all of my brushes and then I line them all up on a towel and let them dry. It usually takes them about a day to dry fully and then they are ready to be used again.

Now onto some tips:
- When drying your brushes, dry them slightly facing downwards. To help your brushes last a lifetime make sure you dry your brushes on a slant. If you just put them straight back in their pot then you are allowing water to weaken the glue that keeps the bristles together, this will cause them to malt and last not as long.
- Spot cleaning is also essential. If you are like me and use one brush for lots of different things then you are best spot cleaning in case any extra product is still on the brush. If you want me to do a separate post on spot cleaning then let me know and I will be sure to do that.
- Treat your brushes like they are hair. Every now and again you can condition your brushes with your usual conditioner and just treat it like it's your own hair. Things like heat are also not good for your brushes just like they are not good for your hair.

I hope you enjoyed this post. Let me know what you use to clean your makeup brushes. Have a great day!

A Home Bargains Haul!

Hi everyone,
As you are reading this, I should be back off my holiday which is weird because I am writing this before I go. Anyway you might not know this but Home Bargains is one of my favorite shops and so I always go in to see whether they have any new bits and I also needed a few things for my holidays so that is why there is a haul. You can pick up some great things at Home Bargains so lets begin! Enjoy!

First thing I bought looked fairly new to the shelves and it is a makeup brush cleaner. This was only £1 and you get a lot for the money. I have used this a few times and I like it. It's great for spot cleaning brushes but the smell is a little like BBQ sauce (ew) which is odd. Never the less, it is definitely worth checking out for yourself.
Again another new product is the nail polish correcter pen. This was about 39p and I knew I had to try it. If you are impatient like me or you lack in concentration, you tend to get a lot of nail polish on you finger and not your nail, that's what this pen is for. If you do nail art or you are just messy like me this pen is suppose to help clean up the edges of your nail and get rid of any access. I will report back on whether it works.
Next was a cute little purchase, I bought a pack of bobby pins that came with a little container to keep them in. I don't remember the price but it was no more than a pound but I just thought that this would be ideal for traveling. The container is a little childish this the little princess on the lid but we can just ignore that. Hopefully this will help me to not loose my bobby pins.
As you all know I love my hair oils but I needed a travel friendly one for my holidays so I picked up this Argan Oil one. It's a bit of a risk since I haven't tried it but I am sure I will love it. This was only about £1 this will hopefully stop my hair from doubling in size during the humidity.
Finally I picked up a holiday essential, after sun. I love this one by Garnier because it is super cooling on the skin. This was about £3, this will last me for a long time. I am not one to burn a lot but even of an evening to cool down this will be useful.

I hope you enjoyed this post, let me know what great purchases you get when your at Home Bargains. Have a great day!

I hope you enjoyed this different style of post. Let me know whether you would like to see another one. Have a great day!

Another Beauty Haul...

Hi everyone,
Like I promised I have another beauty haul, I hope you enjoy!

From Superdrug I bought the Real Techniques Miracle Completion Sponge, I have wanted to try this for so long and it has never been in stock. I will be trying this out when I am on holiday so I will report back once I am back off my holidays.
Next I bought the Barry M Colour Correcting Primer in Green. My natural skin is very red and I thought this primer looked like it would work for me. I haven't seen people talk about this but I wanted to try it anyway. It has a very strong silicone feel to it but I think that is good because I have oily skin, but so far it has primed my skin as well as reducing the redness.
Since it was 3 for 2 on all makeup in Superdrug, I got this product for free and it is the Barry M Lip Liner in Coral. Now it's summer, I wanted a orange lip liner. I have always thought that orange really suited me and so I bought this lip liner. I will let you know how I get on with this.
From The Body Shop I bought the Camomile Cleansing Butter. I have wanted to try this for so long and since I needed a travel friendly cleanser, I thought I would buy this. The concept of this product is very unique but it is so refreshing and it gets my makeup off super fast.
Finally while in the queue, I saw that they had a little makeup sale going on and that their powder foundations were reduced from £15 to £5 (what a bargain!) and so I had to buy one. I did guess my shade which turns out to be a little dark for me, but since it has spf 25 in it, I thought that it would be ideal for my holiday once I have a tan.
Next from Urban Outfitters, I got a Tangle Teezer. Believe it or not, I have never actually owned one but I needed a compact brush for my holiday and I thought I might as well invest in a Tangle Teezer. I also got the limited edition colour which is a yellow and baby pink shade, which is a beautiful bonus.
The final thing I bought was from Lush and it was a repurchase of one of my favorite toners. The Tea Tree Toner by Lush is such a refreshing toner, I thought I must have it for my holiday. I got the 100g which should last the whole time I am there and it is just such a great toner.

I hope you enjoyed this haul, there might be another one very soon. Let me know whether there is anything you want to try out of this haul. Have a great day!
