The Best of The Eye Bases

Hi everyone,
I know I'm not the only one when I say that my eye shadow will always come off by the end of the day. Am I right? I struggle so much with keeping my eye shadow looking on point all day. If you are like me, then I hope this post helps you. Since discovering the products above, my eye shadow has lasted so much longer. Enjoy!

A product that almost every beauty blogger owns is the Maybelline Colour Tattoos. They came out a while ago but still manage to impress. A range of neutral and bright shades are in this formula. Me being the very natural person I am, I have the shades on and on bronze and permanent taupe. Both are super wearable, on and on bronze has a shimmer to it, whereas permanent taupe is a matte shade. The Maybelline colour tattoos make you eye shadow almost stick, and they don't budge all day!

Another Maybelline products which you might never think of as being an eye base works wonders, if you give it a chance. It's the Maybelline Cover Stick in Vanilla, your probably thinking "Grace, that's a concealer!" but don't pretend that you haven't watched a makeup tutorial on youtube and they don't but concealer over their eyelids. I like to use this as an eye base because it is too light to be a concealer and it is super thick to put under my eyes. Because this is in a stick formula, it makes it super quick to apply and it blends very well. The shade Vanilla is a super light, yellow-toned shade so it helps to brighten the eyes too.

If you are a massive Primark fan like myself, you will know that they now have a cosmetic brand called Ps... Quit a while back, I bought a brow kit from Primark because I needed a new gel and tweezers. The kit I picked up also came with a Primark brow pencil and I tried it for the first time, and hated it. The pencil itself was too creamy and it just wouldn't look good on brows but I tried it on my eyes and now I love it. The formula is like the Maybelline Cover Stick but thinner, so I like to use this in the crease if I am doing a smokey eye, because it adds a lot of definition and blends amazingly. I know your probably thinking I am mad for using this on my eyes but it does work, and there is no rule saying you have to use a product for what it says. Right?

The final drugstore product I recommend for making your eye shadow last longer is the NYX Jumbo Eye pencils.  I bought mine in Germany but I know that FeelUnique and Boots now sell them on their websites. Honestly, if you are considering buying these, I really think that you should. Their formula is so unique and works wonders. The pencil applicator is so easy to use and the product itself is super cream, blendable and pigmented. Mine is in the shade Milk and I find it so brightening for the days when I lack in sleep.

The final product I have to share with you is a high end product. Obviously if you would rather use a drugstore alternative then that's completely up to you, but I think this shade is like no other. It is Mac's Painterly Paint Pot. My parents kindly got me this for Christmas and I have grown to love it. The formulation is super creamy and it lasts forever by itself or with shadow on top. Painterly itself is a salmon/ peach shade and I find it cancels veins on your eyes super well, whilst looking natural.

I hope you enjoyed this post! Let me know what your favorite eye base is. Have a great day!
Grace xx
