Can you believe it's December?! I can't but I am not complaining because Blogmas has begun. I hope you are all looking forward to my posts this year. I will be posting everyday, on a week day at 5pm and on the weekend at 10am. Today I thought I would kick off the series with some tips I stick by that get me through the stressful (yet amazing) build up to Christmas.
1. Plan
I love to write a spontaneous post every now and again but when it comes to posting daily you need to have an idea on what your writing about everyday. I have already got all my posts planned so I can easily prepare in advance. This ties in with plan, but you need to plan what photos you need to be taken. As it is winter, it's hard to get some good photos unless it is during the early morning so I would plan my weeks photos and take them all on a Saturday morning.
2. Schedule
I tend to schedule most of my posts anyway but it is crucial for me to schedule during Blogmas so I am reassured that all of my posts will go up at the same time everyday. This will also give you the chance to see what needs to be done and what has already been done.
3. Short and Sweet
All year round I am not really the biggest fan of long posts but if you were to write long, rambling post everyday you will be wasting time and not everyone will have the time to read super long posts. I would recommend to keep your posts short and simple, don't rush your posts, get everything you need to say out, but there is no need to waste time over complicating what you are trying to say.
4. Be Realistic
Don't have you head up in the sky about how easy Blogmas is going to be, or how all of your great post ideas will go to plan because you are wrong. I don't think anyone notices how difficult blogging everyday for 24 days can be, it's stressful so if it's your first time don't think you won't be stressed because you will. I'm not trying to scare you but please be realistic about what your trying to do.
Do you have any tips?
